A hearing in the case of a British businessman fighting extradition to South Africa where he is accused of ordering the murder of his new wife is due to take place. Shrien Dewani, 31, is accused of hiring a hitman to kill Anni Dewani, 28, on their honeymoon. South African authorities are seeking to have Mr Dewani taken back to the country to stand trial for the alleged contract murder of his wife in Cape Town in November. Representatives of Dewani, from Bristol, will appear at Belmarsh Magistrates’ Court today for a short case management session. Mrs Dewani, from Sweden, was shot when a taxi the couple were travelling in was hijacked in the Gugulethu township on the outskirts of Cape Town on November 13. She was found dead in the back of an abandoned cab with a bullet wound to her neck after cabbie Zola Tongo drove the newlyweds to the township. See PA story COURTS Honeymoon.
