Illustrator Julia Wytrazek has used Scooby-Doo and the gang as a way to explore fashion in the 20th century. She retains the group’s familiar colors and imagines how what type of person in that era would be. On Wytrazek’s site she breaks down the thinking behind each decade’s clothes and what type of person they are. For example, Daphne is a flapper in the ’20s, Fred is a soldier in the ’40s, Velma is an adventuring archaeologist in 1910, and Shaggy is a punk rocker in the ’80s. Wytrazek does a great job of adapting each character and keeping the spirit of each intact across nine decades and illustrations.
